I recently started a precept bible study on the book of Isaiah. I am so excited, because it is just really good. We were comparing Isaiah's day with current day which of course led to some discussion about the political threshold we are on. Many people are uneasy, worried and down right scared. We got into a discussion of God's sovereignty which led us to Philippians 4:4-9. We discussed six ways to have God's peace in our daily circumstances and especially in these days we live in. Here's what we came up with:
Verse 4: Rejoice in the Lord,
Verse 5: Let your gentle spirit be known to all,
Verse 6: Be anxious for nothing,
Verse 6: In everything by prayer and supplication (humbly and earnestly ask), with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God,
Verse 8: Think on whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, good repute (reputable and favorably known), if any excellence, if worthy of praise and
Verse 9: Practice these things,
THEN
Verse 7: the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension shall guard your hearts and minds
AND
Verse 9: the God of peace shall be with you.
This was a good refresher for me as I have taught Philippians in the past so I thought I would share it with you. Think on it! It WILL bring you peace! Back to Isaiah.....
Blessings,
Vickie
