This morning in my quiet

| | Comments (0)

This morning in my quiet time I was very encouraged with Psalm 4. "Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! Thou hast relieved me in my distress; be gracious to me and hear my prayer. O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him." You may be surprised at what touched me the most and met my need just this morning. It was verse 1. "O God of my righteousness!" I was reading from the New American Standard version. The footnote said "i.e. who maintainest my right". My interpretation: God maintains my righteousness! There is nothing I can "do" to make me more "right" than Jesus has already made me. Nor is there anything "I" can do to maintain it. That started my day just a little bit sweeter! Hope you have a good week.
